Bus Registration
Families register and pay for general transportation using MyCBE, every school year. The deadline for pre-registration was June 8, 2022. Transportation continues to accept registrations after the deadline, and students are added to the closest existing stop with space. Processing times could be up to 6 weeks at the beginning of the school year due to volume. Families are responsible for transporting students while they wait to be added to a route. If you need help with bus registration please contact the school at 403-817-3508.
Welcome Package
We will be sending our welcome package out to families next week that includes the school calendar, Student health plan, walking field letter and other information. Please review this package next week and return the required forms signed.
Traffic Concerns
As our school community continues to grow, there has been a substantial increase in car traffic in and around the school. This is most noticeable before school in the morning (8:50 – 9:00 AM) and immediately afterschool (3:45 – 4:10 PM). We have had several concerns brought forward from both parents and neighbors about the traffic issues around the school.
Traffic safety is everyone's responsibility. Our recommendation is for you to have your child walk/ride their bike/scooter to school if they live within the walk zone. If you must drop off or pick up your student, we ask that you select a drop off and pick up zone that is at least two blocks away from the school. The Hugh A Bennett pond east of the school is an excellent choice.
Reminders to all parents/families:
- Saddletree Drive beside the school is designated for 5 School Buses. Parents can park, drop off, or pick up students up further along Saddletree Drive past the intersection at Saddlecreek Way.
- Parents can not park, drop off, or pick up students on Saddletree Court in the Raven Ridge Gardens condo complex – this is private property.
- Blocking entrances to garages or driveways angers neighbors. Stay back at least 1.5 meters.
- School bus zones must be kept clear so children can step off the bus and onto a curb instead of exiting into a busy street.
- DO NOT STOP in the middle of the street to drop off or pick up students - this is extremely dangerous for students.
- Please do not walk in-between parked buses.
- Please use designated pedestrian crosswalks and sideways.
- We have contacted and will be working with both Calgary Parking Authority and the Calgary Police Service to ensure the roads around the school are being kept safe. Let's all work together to make our community safe for everyone.
