Athletics

Thank you to all of the students that came out to our volleyball tryouts this year especially with the cold weather we had this week.  Thank you also to all of the parents that dropped and picked up their kids in this extreme weather.  We would have loved to have kept all of the kids trying out unfortunately we could only keep 12 per team.  If your child did not make the team and is still looking to work on their volleyball skills the volleydome here in the north east near the airport runs a lot of junior programs.  Here is a link if you are interested: https://www.volleydome.net/youth

Physical Education

Our ski/snowboard trip will be happening at the end of January for the 9's and middle of February for the 7's and 8's. We also ask that for students going that parents pay their fees on Powerschool.  For students that are still interested in going for grades 7 and 8 forms can be picked up in the main gym from any of the Physical Education teachers.  We still have 21 spots in grade 8 and 10 spots left in grade 7.  We would love to fill this trip up and students from the past have said it was one of their most enjoyable field trips they have been on.  For parents wondering where the students will be here is a link to the website https://www.winsport.ca/ and students will spend most of their time at the lower sections of the hill unless they are more experienced.

A reminder that we will be running outdoor modules all winter long and students in these modules need to come to class prepared with sweaters, warm pants, winter jackets, mittens/gloves, hats or hoods, warm socks and snow pants and boots are beneficial but are not mandatory.  Lots of students are coming to school unprepared and are having trouble participating in their modules because of this.
