Annual Notification

Our school has a video surveillance system to help maintain a safe and secure environment at the school for students, staff and the public, and to help address vandalism and criminal activity on school property.

The video surveillance system is installed and reviewed in accordance with Administrative Regulation 1066. Personal information is collected under the authority of the Education Act and the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA), specifically section 10(1) and the Access to Information Act (ATIA)​.

This technology can be placed in areas such as ​the school parking lot, building entrances and exits, stairwells and hallways. This information is recorded and collected to help maintain a safe and secure environment in the school and on school property. The users of this information are the principal or designate and​ law enforcement personnel in the case of reported incidents that would require an investigation. Only authorized persons will review video surveillance information.

Inquiries concerning the video surveillance system, or the collection and use of recorded information may be made by contacting the school office.

 Grade 9 Zoo Field Trip

On October 21st and 22nd, students from grade 9 will be attending a field trip at Calgary Zoo.  During this field trip, grade 9 students will attend workshops led by the Wilder Institute and will support their Biodiversity learning in science.  In order for these field trips to go forward, we need more volunteers.  If you are able to volunteer either on Wednesday, Oct. 21st or Thursday, Oct. 22nd or would like more information please contact Kelly Achtymichuk at kdachtymichuk@cbe.ab.ca. 

 Mural Students

-  Students who are working on the Art Mural will be meeting after school on Tuesday October 13th from 3:45-5:00pm

Cross-Country:

-  Cross-Country Practices will conclude it’s season this week!

-  Wind-Up Date: Thursday October 15th! (3:45 - 5:00 pm)

 Soccer:

-  Our girls’ and boys’ soccer teams had their final regular season games games this week!

-  The girls beat Prairie Sky at home; 2–1 on Thursday! They’ll play in the quarterfinals next Thursday. Location TBD.

-  The boys lost to Ted Harrison at home this Wednesday; 4-2. They’ll play in the quarterfinals next Wednesday. Location TBD.

-  GO Thunder!

Basketball:

-  All four of our basketball teams continued to practice and improve in their fourth week of the season!

- The Jr. Girls played against Crossing Park and won their game; 36-31. The girls play their next game @ Prairie Sky on Wednesday evening. The Jr. Girls also have their tournament next week @ H.D. Cartwright & Simon Fraser.

-  The Sr. Girls played @ Terry Fox this week and fell to Terry Fox & Clarence Sansom. The girls are continuing to learn and improve!

-   The Jr. Boys played @ Ted Harrison this week and fell to both Clarence Sansom & Ted Harrison. The boys are continuing to improve! The Jr. Boys play in their tournament next week @ H.D. Cartwright & Simon Fraser.

-  The Sr. Boys played this past Thursday night against Crossing Park & Terry Fox. The boys fell short to Crossing Park in their first game but played an incredible second game against Terry Fox and won! The Sr. Boys have their feeder tournament next Friday, October 16th @ Nelson Mandela High School.
