We’re celebrating Diwali at PLS this Friday! 🪔 Snacks will be available for purchase in the servery, so please bring cash if you would like to buy something.

All students are encouraged to wear cultural clothing or an outfit they enjoy celebrating in, even if they don’t celebrate Diwali!

School Photo Retake Day - November 4

School photo retakes will take place on November 4. If your child was absent on the original photo day or would like their photo retaken, please ensure they are prepared for their photo on that day. 

Dressing appropriately 

As the weather gets colder, please ensure students come dressed for the weather, including warm jackets, boots, gloves, and hats.

Remembrance Day Assemblies  

 Peter Lougheed School will be observing Remembrance Day on Tuesday, November 10th. We will be having three assemblies. The assembly times and the attending classes are listed below: 

P2 (9:55-10:43) – 5-7, 5-8, 6-2, 6-4, 7-5, 7-6, 7-7, 8-1, 8-2,8-3, 9-2, 9-4, 9-6, LEAD

P3 (10:45-11:33) – 5-1, 5-2, 6-1, 6-3, 6-5, 7-3, 7-4, 8-4, 8-5, 8-6, 8-7, 9-7 

P4 (11:35-12:23) – 5-3, 5-4, 5-5, 5-6, 6-6, 6-7, 6-8, 7-1, 7-2, 9-1, 9-3, 9-5

We would like to invite interested families to join us at the school for our Remembrance Day Service. During our service we will be honoring veterans with a photo slideshow. We would like to invite families to send a photo (or photos) of friends and family members who have served in any military or associated service organizations, in service of making our world a better place. Please send all photos to: jlgarbutt@cbe.ab.ca  With the photo, please include the name of the person, their rank and the name of the student(s) who attends Peter Lougheed School. 

Homeroom teachers will be accepting poppy donations. All cash donations will be sent to the Legion Poppy Fund.

• Sr. Boys:
  • The Sr. Boys had a busy week of games as they competed in their NW Classic Tournament. The boys lost a close one against Westridge and won a tight secondgame against H.D. Cartwright. The boys play in the consolation final this Friday against Arbour Lake. The boys also played against Prairie Sky on Thursday night and pulled off another win. The boys moved to 5-1 in league play!

  • The Sr. Girls also had a really busy week of games! The girls first played on Wednesday and fell to both Terry Fox & Clarence Sansom. The girls then played in their NW Classic tournament on Thursday and ended up losing their first game against Lakeshore but won their second game against Simon Fraser! The girls play in the consolation final this Friday @ H.D. Cartwright.
