Dear Bus C Families,

We have just been notified the driver of Peter Lougheed Bus C will be away until further notice and the route will be covered as unassigned/open run. As we have been communicating since before the beginning of the last school year, our transportation service providers are facing a qualified bus driver shortage. This means there is an increased chance of delays in scheduled drop-off times. Please make sure your family is prepared if there are delays on the route, or in the event their bus is delayed or canceled on short notice. The service provider has covered the run on-time in the morning and in the afternoon.

Unassigned bus runs do not have a regular, scheduled driver, and are also referred to as an open run. This means it is covered by drivers who act as floaters, spares, or drivers who help out after finishing their assigned run. An unassigned run is more likely to run delays in both pick-up and drop-off times, and some delays may be quite significant.

CBE Transportation will notify schools and families once a permanent driver is assigned to the run.

We also understand that accurate and timely communication of delays has been a concern. We are working closely with our service providers to address these concerns.
