Dear PLS Families,

Thank you everyone for your support as we navigate returning to school following Labour Action.  It was great to see all the excitement around our second set of Minute to Win It Assemblies today!

Math at Home with Youcubed at Home
Youcubed at Home offers engaging math activities designed for families to try together. Each task includes a video introduction and often an example of how you can engage with your child. These activities help children notice and enjoy the math that is all around them.

Youcubed also offers a parent resource page to help you support your child's math learning at home. One of the best ways to engage your child at home is with simple and creative ideas to work on growth mindsets and explore math.

Remembrance Day Assembly

In preparation for our Remembrance Day assembly on Friday, November 7, we would like to invite all families to send a photo (or photos) of friends and family members who have served in any military or associated service organizations, in service of making our world a better place. Please send all photos to Jessica Garbutt at jlgarbutt@cbe.ab.ca

The Legion provides a poppy for every child, which will be provided on the morning of Nov 7th.  Donations are welcome but not expected. All collected donations will be sent to the Legion Poppy Fund.

 Fall Break

Please be reminded that the school will be closed from November 10-November 12 for Fall Break 2025.   Classes will resume on Thursday, November 13.

 Athletics

 Soccer

The soccer season has officially wrapped up! Both the girls’ and boys’ teams had a fantastic season, and we’re so proud of how much growth and improvement we saw over the past few games. We’ll share updates soon regarding any team fee refunds and details for the wrap-up celebration. Please return your soccer jerseys to one of the coaches.

Basketball Update

Basketball teams will resume practices next week on November 3rd. There will be NO games played next week. We are currently waiting to see what the rest of the season will look like and will update students and families as soon as we have any information.
