PLS Student Spectators at PLS Athletics
PLS teachers have volunteered to supervise PLS student fans/spectators at our home basketball games that run from 4:30pm-5:30pm – thank you, teachers. Expectations for student spectators are that they are respectful and supportive of all athletes, coaches and referees. All student spectators must leave following the first game. Student spectators may not attend away games at other schools.
Our home games are NOT public events. Our games are only for parents/guardians and our current students. Older siblings and other family members will not be permitted unless they are attending with a parent or legal guardian. Students who attend other schools will also not be permitted to enter unless they are accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. These expectations exist at all schools in our division, including Peter Lougheed.
Terry Fox Fundraising Update
The Terry Fox Run was a great success last Friday! Students of all ages came together to walk, jog, and run around the school block for an hour, showing their support for Terry’s Marathon of Hope. It was inspiring to see the entire school community unite for such a meaningful cause. As a result of everyone’s efforts, we’ve raised a total of $815! A special congratulations to Jad Shahdi for winning the Terry Fox t-shirt raffle!

Physical Education:
A reminder to all parents to ensure students come with proper clothing so they can effectively participate in Physical Education class. Also, any students wearing crocs or slides/sandals/flip flops will not be allowed to participate in the activities as there are major safety concerns with these types of footwear. Please ensure your child has proper PE footwear & attire as we had some students showing up to PE class with crocs this week.
It is highly recommended that students bring their own water bottle to PE class. Please write your name on your bottle. Students wishing to go to water fountains during class will be asked to go during times where instructions are NOT being given.
Our goal for Physical Education this year is to enjoy and find success in PE class. To help students develop success, we outline these six expectations on how students can be successful this year:
- PARTICIPATE – to the best of their ability
- BE RESPECTFUL – use appropriate & safe language
- BE PREPARED – have proper footwear and attire for outdoor activities
- COMMUNICATE – talk to their teacher if they require support
- ARRIVE ON TIME – please don’t be late to class
- We had some issues this week with lates. Please make sure you talk to your child about the importance of arriving on time to class.
- HAVE FUN! - Smile, move & laugh!
