Sept. 30-Oct. 4th
September 30: National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (No Classes)
From Administration:
Please remember when dropping off or picking up your children to choose safety over convenience. We have noticed many parents stopping their vehicles in the middle of the road and dropping off students or beckoning their children to step into traffic to get into their vehicles. There has been more than one narrow escape with a student nearly getting hit by a car when jaywalking to meet their parents. Illegal U-turns and parking in the bus zone endanger your child and others. Please take that bit of extra time and pick a meeting spot that is in a safe area.

Athletics
A huge congratulations to our cross-country running team on all of their success at their final race at Confederation Park. The weather was perfect and our athletes worked hard in their last race. Fees for cross country will be added on Monday for the students to have their wrap up party for the year.
Our girls' soccer team played their first regular season game and dominated possession in the second half but were unable to get an equalizer in a 1-0 loss to Ted Harrison. Our boys were scheduled to take on Crossing Park on Wednesday, but the game will be replayed on October 7th. Both teams will play this week with our boys team playing at Prairie Sky and our girls team playing Crossing Park at home. Come out and cheer on the girls.
Our junior girl's basketball team played their first games on Monday winning the first one in a close battle with Crossing Park and winning the second one against Terry Fox by a larger margin. Congrats on the girls playing with a great amount of heart. The junior girls will be playing in their tournament at HD Cartwright School on Thursday & Friday this week. Our senior girls' games from Wednesday will be postponed to the middle of October and they will play their first games at home this Wednesday. Our junior boy's team will play their first games on Tuesday of this week at Prairie Sky School and will be at the HD Cartwright tournament on Wednesday and Friday so good luck to them with all their games. Finally, our senior boy's team will get their first taste of game action on Thursday at Ted Harrison School.
Athletic Schedule.
Please ensure that if your child is planning to try out for an athletic team that they have turned in their athletic tryout purple form to the phys ed office. If students still need this form, they can pick one up from the pe office in the gym.

Physical Education
Just a reminder to all parents to ensure students are coming with proper clothing so they can participate in Physical Education class. Also, any students wearing crocs or sandals/flip flops will not be allowed to participate in the activities as there are major safety concerns with these types of footwear.
We will be switching modules on Tuesday. The –1 & -2 classes will be doing football and soccer, -3 & -4 softball, and floor hockey, and –5 & -6 basketball and cricket. Please ensure your kids are ready to be outside with sweaters and jackets when the weather starts to get colder, and the students have pe in the mornings.
