Athletics

Our badminton teams continue to practice to get ready for their tournament.  Tournaments will be in the middle of May.  Good luck to our athletes at their tournaments.

Track and field tryouts will be starting in the middle of May and the meet will be on June 2nd during the school day.

Please ensure that if your child is planning to try out for an athletic team that they have turned in their athletic tryout purple form to the phys ed office.  If students still need this form, they can pick one up from the pe office in the gym.

Physical Education

With warmer weather coming back we are noticing students wearing shoes that are not suitable for participating in pe activities.  These shoes include sandals, crocs, flip flops and slides.  We are okay with students wearing these shoes around the building but when it is time for physical education class we ask that these students change into a pair of running shoes that they are also bringing to school with them.  There is a great safety concern of students breaking bones in their feet or ankles with improper shoes participating in our activities.  Students wearing the incorrect footwear will be asked to sit out of activities until they fix the issues and parents will be notified of the issue.

Monday will be the last day of human sexuality and fitness testing.  On Tuesday we will start our track and field module for three weeks where students will take part in running, jumping and throwing events.

Math 15 Summer School Registration

The initial process of registering students for Math 15 Summer School has now begun. Grade 9 students can submit interest through a Microsoft Form online that has been posted on D2L by their teachers. Ms. Yates will be reaching out to get parent consent to register students. Please review the presentation on D2L to ensure you are eligible to take Math 15. Students who are registered at Crescent Heights and Lester B. Pearson are eligible to Math 15 Summer School; Students registered at Nelson Mandela, James Fowler and Jack James need to double check that they are eligible. Registration closes May 5th . If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Yates at bryates@cbe.ab.ca
