Physical Education

A reminder for parents to please pay for the ski and snowboard field trip on PowerSchool if your child attended.

A reminder that we will be running outdoor modules all winter long and students in these modules need to come to class prepared with sweaters, warm pants, winter jackets, mittens/gloves, hats or hoods, warm socks and snow pants and boots are beneficial but are not mandatory. Lots of students are coming to school unprepared and are having trouble participating in their modules because of this.

Digital Citizenship/Online Safety Presentation

As a school support, we are pleased to welcome Constable Gert Villani from Calgary Police Service to talk with our students and teachers in Grade 9 on March 8, 2024 about online safety.  Additional presentations have been booked for Grades 6, 7 and 8 and will occur prior to Spring Break.   Please talk with your students and help them brainstorm any questions you and they have for Constable Villani.

Student Progress Conferences

Student Progress Conferences are an opportunity for families, students and teachers to meet to discuss academic progress and next steps in learning.  Our next set of SPCs is being held on March 21 (4:30-8pm) and March 22 (9am-1pm).   All appointments will be in person and by appointment only.  Next week, our School Conference booking system will open for families to book times to meet with teachers at Peter Lougheed School. Please watch for an additional messenger to prepare for making these arrangements.

RICS (Refugee and Immigrant Counselling in Schools)

We are so grateful to have been selected as a school to receive RICS support.  Our counsellor, Yusra will be visiting Grade 7-9 classrooms to give an overview of the supports available.   Consent is required from parents/guardians in order for students to access personalized services.
