Reminder | NMHS Walking Field Trip (Monday)
Just a reminder that all Grade 9 students and teachers will be walking to Nelson Mandela High School on Monday, January 27, 2025. We will be leaving Peter Lougheed School at 9:30am and returning from Nelson Mandela High School at 1:00pm. Please ensure your child dresses for the walk with proper footwear and winter clothing and that they bring a bagged lunch to be left at PLS to eat upon our return. There will be no opportunities to purchase lunch either off-campus or through the servery for Grade 9s that day.

Athletics
This week our volleyball teams had their first round of practices and are working hard to get ready for their season. Exhibition games will start next week for all of the teams and then the regular season will start the week after. Good luck to all of our teams this season.

Please ensure that if your child is planning to try out for an athletic team that they have turned in their athletic tryout purple form to the phys ed office. If students still need this form, they can pick one up from the pe office in the gym.

Physical Education
Classes will be switching on Monday. -1 & -2 classes will be doing outdoor games and health so students need to be prepared to go outside with warm clothes and gloves/mitts. -3 & -4 classes will be doing low organized games and health and finally –5 & -6 classes will be learning juggling and racquet sports including badminton and pickleball. These modules will be running for three weeks before switching will occur.
