December 16-20, 2024
December 20th - LAST DAY OF SCHOOL
January 6th - CLASSES RESUME
Winter Concert Thank You
Thank you to Ms. Ramage, her students and their families for a wonderful evening this past Thursday. Sharing refreshments of hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes while listening to the Grade 7, Grade 8/9 and Mass Band perform was a fantastic community building experience.
Twin Day/Minute to Win It Thank You
Thank you to Mr van Vugt for coordinating our spirit day (Twin day) and third community-building assembly on Friday. In addition to recognizing Grade 5 and 6 art students, our soccer and basketball teams, our Robotics club and providing an opportunity for our band to perform, volunteers from homerooms participated in three friendly challenges. Ask your child(ren) if they volunteered!
Locker Cleanout
Students will be cleaning out their lockers on Thursday, December 19. If possible, please send them with an extra re-usable bag in case they require it. Teachers will supervise the cleanout and will be encouraging students to bring home empty lunch containers, extra clothing and to return any books to the Learning Commons.
Winter Break Reminder
Peter Lougheed School will be closed for Winter Break from December 21, 2024-January 5, 2025. Classes resume January 6, 2025.
Semester 1, Term 1 and Term 2 Reporting
Report cards for Semester 1, Term 1 and Term 2 will be enabled for viewing by parents and guardians on Monday, January 27, 2025. Paper copies of the report card will not be sent home; they are only accessed via PowerSchool accounts.
Athletics
Our senior boys basketball team played in the city championships at Crescent Heights last Friday and unfortunately lost in the finals but we are so proud of their silver medal performance and how well they did throughout the whole season.
Volleyball tryouts will start up after winter break so any students that intend to tryout will need to sign up on the bulletin board and ensure they have their purple athletic tryout forms into the office.
Athletic Schedule
Please ensure that if your child is planning to try out for an athletic team that they have turned in their athletic tryout purple form to the phys ed office. If students still need this form, they can pick one up from the pe office in the gym.
